Why You’ll Love This Job
A Day in the Life
This is a perfect opportunity for a Senior Engineer to make an immediate impact on the design and implementation of unique and large-scale restoration projects.
You will be leading and developing a variety of engineering projects and initiatives; feasibility and concept development for watershed-level stormwater management, stream and wetland restoration solutions, water quality treatment technologies and BMPs; post design; errors and omissions reviews and implementing corrective actions.
As a member of our team, you will focus on projects for ecosystem restoration, water quality improvements, and improvements in complex watersheds, as well as solving unique ecological and hydrologic issues in various complex watersheds across the state. Opportunities may include projects for large landscape-level flood mitigation, stormwater retrofits; stream and wetland restoration; living shorelines; and nutrient reduction projects related to EPA’s Impaired Waters Rule/Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) and Florida’s Basin Management Action Plans (BMAPs).
You may start your day by reviewing a hydraulic model and QA/QC’ing plan sets for a large stream restoration project headed for agency review. Midday, you're on a call with a client to walk through design revisions, balancing technical needs with site constraints and budget. Later, you’re reviewing erosion and sediment control details submitted by a junior engineer—offering feedback and making sure it aligns with jurisdictional standards.
Depending on the project phase, you might spend part of your week in the field—gathering site data, conducting a feasibility assessment, or checking that construction is matching your drawings. Throughout the day, you’re leading conversations with PMs, scientists, clients, and regulators—turning complex data into clear solutions and ensuring projects stay on track and on spec.
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
