Description

Reporting to the Lead Automation Engineer, the Co-Op (Engineering) will support site activities as we work towards the completion of our first commercial facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with HMI Programming: Support the engineering team in designing and programming HMI systems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to support project success.
  • Documentation: Help prepare and review contract documentation, including equipment specs, instrumentation data sheets, cable schedules, installation specs, and more.
  • Pilot Plant Support: Assist with electrical, automation, and instrumentation topics at our in-house pilot plant.
  • Electrical Drawings: Create and review electrical drawings for small electrical control panels.
  • Process and Documentation Maintenance: Help maintain processes and documentation within the engineering team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of industrial electrical control systems and familiarity with site and machine-level electrical drawings.
  • Software Skills: Experience with drafting and modifying 2D AutoCAD files and familiarity with 3D plant modeling software.
  • Instrumentation: Basic understanding of industrial instrumentation is desired.
  • Team Player: Must be self-motivated, proactive, flexible, and passionate about learning.
  • Critical Thinking: Excellent critical thinking, analysis, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Ability to interact with a wide range of scientists and engineers.
