The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility’s (ALCF) mission is to accelerate major scientific discoveries and engineering breakthroughs for humanity by designing and providing world-leading computing facilities in partnership with the computational science community. We help researchers solve some of the world’s largest and most complex problems with our unique combination of supercomputing resources and computational science expertise.
ALCF is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join our team focused on advancing data infrastructure and AI applications on supercomputing systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in data management and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and scale data infrastructure for AI applications on supercomputing systems
Work on integrating and analyzing diverse data types to support scientific discovery
Research and implement data management solutions using advanced storage systems
Evaluate and optimize AI applications for performance and scalability
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design future data-management solutions
This position will play a crucial role in enhancing ALCF's capabilities in supporting AI-driven scientific research and innovation
Position Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Science, Engineering, or a related field (completed within the last 5 years)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with high-performance computing and parallel computing
Familiarity with data management systems and AI-driven applications

The expected hiring range for this position is $70,758.00-$117,925.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
