Production Supervisor - Third Shift

Production Supervisor – Third Shift, (7:30 PM – 6:00 AM)

Responsible for leading day-to-day operations in the fabrication and welding department, with a focus on lean manufacturing principles. This role supports the production of large-scale wastewater treatment plant equipment using carbon and stainless steel materials.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards

• Implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing initiatives

• Managing inventory control and workflow efficiency

• Promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the third shift.

Onsite Position: 1828 Metcalf Ave. Thomasville, GA 31792

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 25 direct reports in fabrication and welding.

• Supervise daily operations to meet production schedules and quality benchmarks.

• Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety and accountability.

• Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow and reduce waste.

• Manage inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize downtime.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.

• Oversee departmental budget and control operational expenses.

• Facilitate shift meetings and communicate updates to management.

• Stay current with industry trends and integrate best practices into operations.

• Ensure routine maintenance of equipment and facilities to support uninterrupted production.

Quality Control:

• Implementing and maintaining quality control measures

• Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations

• Conducting quality inspections and addressing any issues or concerns

• Implementing corrective actions to improve product quality

Team Management:

• Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.

• Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.

• Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.

• Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.

• Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

• Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement practices

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred: SAP and Workday experience 

• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts

The estimated salary range for this position is $72,300.00 to $85,000.00 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
