About the Job
Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage are required if renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid. Invinity provides an alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion because the battery technology that works so well in our pockets doesn’t work as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limits use, and even catches fire.
Manufactured as a standardized product in a factory, Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries don’t degrade, won’t catch fire, and can be operated continuously from full charge to full discharge for 25 years. Invinity has 75 megawatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries - more than any other company in the space. We’ve deployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and are supported by the UK's National Wealth Fund, some of the world’s leading institutional investors and our projects are backed by major institutions including the U.S. Department of Energy and the UK Government.
A compelling product and recent funding put Invinity in a position to grow dramatically as it addresses the global imperative for stationary energy storage. Join us as we help transform renewable energy into a stable and dependable contributor to the transition to net zero.
Invinity has operations in the UK, Canada and the U.S. and trades publicly in the UK on AIM and AQSE and in the U.S. on OTCQX. For more information about us visit our webpage.
Invinity is deploying large-scale projects in Southern California, throughout the US, and internationally. We are looking for a technician, ideally with electrical and mechanical experience to service and maintain the hardware, software, and communications technologies in our energy storage systems across multiple concurrent projects. In this role, reporting to the Field Services Manager in our Customer Operations department, you will work closely with Support Engineers, Product Development, Solutions teams, and Customers.
Responsibilities
Support the safe installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Invinity’s products in the field
Diagnose, repair, and replace key electrochemical, electrical, and control system components

Provide operations and maintenance feedback to the wider team to drive continuous product and service improvement
Facilitate customer operation, maintenance, and safety training
Maintain field service equipment and tooling, and spare inventories
Monitor and assess system performance in Invinity’s remote monitoring platform and take action to address observations
Maintain good relationships with customers, and technical and managerial staff at all customer sites
Based out of Invinity's office in Vista with travel and work at Invinity customer sites. While uncommon, travel for up to four weeks may be required a few times per year
Other tasks as required and as is reasonable, across customer sites and Invinity premises
Desired Skills and Experience
High school diploma, GED, or higher and/or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience
Five (5) years of experience in electrical/electronics/power electronics and or network communications in a Field Service environment
Experience in renewable energy generation, inverter/rectifier systems, or energy storage
Experience commissioning, servicing, maintaining and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment
Strong competency for using hand tools
Health and safety training with the ability to work safely and follow documented procedures
Ability to produce thorough and accurate service reports and other supporting documentation

If you are great at what you do, willing to engage with our collaborative culture, and motivated by making a difference in the world, consider joining us. Invinity Energy Systems is small enough that every team member plays a critical role in our daily business, but large enough to participate in landmark clean energy projects around the world.
