About the role

Software engineers at Anza are passionate builders, empathetic communicators, and proactive contributors. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining our core set of algorithms which translate our unique dataset into actionable insights. You’ll work hand in hand with our subject matter experts, as well as our product and software engineering teams to define, implement, and optimize our Solar and Energy Storage procurement algorithms. Over time, you’ll gain deep subject matter expertise and contribute at the forefront of the Renewable Energy industry.

We’re cloud native (GCP) and our technical stack is made up of Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React, and PostgreSQL. We care deeply about our engineering culture, developer experience, and invest extensively into CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. 

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work closely with Solar and Energy Storage subject matter experts to develop and maintain critical algorithms at the heart of our software offerings

  • Set high engineering standards by writing high-quality, performant, and thoroughly tested code

  • Drive critical performance enhancements

  • Develop a deep subject matter understanding of Solar and Energy Storage

  • Build supporting tools, visualizations, and infrastructure to ensure reliability and accuracy

While no one individual will possess them all, the successful candidate will bring many of the following experiences, skills, and attributes:

  • 8+ years of hands on software engineering experience

  • 4+ years of Python experience

  • Background in math, power systems, and/or electrical engineering

  • Demonstrated technical leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining complex algorithms

  • Expertise with performance optimization and testing
