The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with demonstrable knowledge of HVAC Control Applications, Building Management Systems, Fire alarm, PA, CCTV and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) to join the team at our diverse office in Chennai.
We are seeking a Senior/Principal controls Engineer Critical systems experienced in the consultancy, design and construction of Critical Facilities and Smart Buildings to become part of our Building Automation team with working knowledge of data centre projects.possessing ICT knowledge & experience shall be considered as additional benefit. The successful candidate will collaborate with all key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills and a strong background in all aspects of Building Automation. A thorough understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems and IP networking is essential. This person shall be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and be a self-starter that can excel with little direction.
Responsibilities
Leading a project for complete controls engineering design, quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, evaluation of product reliability ,Preparation of layouts, preparation of specification, coordinating with other disciplines and client. This position will be responsible for controls systems strategies, design and specifications.
Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines.
Drive project schedules while working closely with other disciplines to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track.
Work simultaneously on multiple projects, in a team or independently with little to no oversight.
Work closely with clients and subcontractors to provide support and technical guidance in building automation.
The Skills
A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, control and instrumentation, Information and Communications Technology or equivalent;
Previous experience in a similar role ;
Demonstrate the successful management of projects and project teams;
Demonstrable experience with DDC and PLC control system design, development and management;
Experience in the design and/or implementation of Building Automation Systems (commercial offices and Data Centre );
Experienced in implementing integrated BMS systems on converged networks;
Conversant in IT cybersecurity requirements, IoT standards, Industry communication protocol etc.;
Familiar with Internet of Things and Cloud Platforms preferred;
Senior candidates with the relevant years of experience may be considered for the Principal role.
Knowledge on local code and statutory regulations.
Knowledge of:
Electrical systems and schematics;
Mechanical systems and schematics;
DDC and PLC architectures;
Fire alarm, CCTV, PA system
BACnet protocol to include IP, ETH and MS/TP;
Modbus protocol to include TCP, and RTU;
Networking Servers and Client Workstations.
Strong organisational and communicative skills are required.
Ability to establish smooth working relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
Candidate should be able to travel to the site locations across the world.
Candidate must be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects in a team or independent environment.
