Position Summary
The Advanced Launch Management Lead will act as the program purchasing lead and the voice of global supply chain management within the program team. This position will be responsible for maintaining financial ownership for the entire Bill of materials in the Advanced launch Phase, working closely with Beijing buyers and Global Commodity Managers to ensure parts are sourced on time while meeting the program budget, initiating the APQP process in conjunction with the Supplier Development Organization and work ensure APQP deliverables are being executed in accordance with the overall program timeline, and providing support to Beijing plant GSM.
Key Accountabilities
Development of cost estimates with detailed drawings and /or limited concepts with high confidence to meet Program Team’s expectations
Maintain overall accountability for estimates submitted
Build estimations from the ground up based upon knowledge of manufacturing processes and commodities to include cost development for raw materials, machining rates, and other processing costs to ensure consistent accuracy if work.
Responsible for holding program kickoff reviews with the rest of the GSM Team to outline key program deliverables
Report status of current production leverage opportunities, sourcing plans, carryover parts/ capacity, and raw material economic exposure
Work to identify and execute improvement opportunities when budget overages exist in the bill off materials
Manage launch reports, cost walks, and one paper summaries
Participate in cross functional teams, including Program management, Supplier Development, and Beijing teams
Responsible for the sourcing new components that are not included in existing commodity strategy
Responsible for holding launch readiness reviews with the entire cross functional team, which would include identifying issues, assigning tasks and drive accountability
Responsible for managing supplier tooling
Manage a smooth transition from Advanced launch phase to production phase by ensuring Beijing buyer team is full supported
Responsible for supporting BorgWarner’s new technology products by identifying and driving new supplier technology
Responsible for driving early supplier onboarding for new programs.
Exhibit overall discipline within GSM function
Qualifications & Requirements
8-10 years of purchasing or program management experience working in an automotive production/Purchasing/GSM environment
5 years’ minimum estimating experience working in an automotive production /manufacturing environment
Program management skills

Strong interpersonal skills-Position interacts with all levels of BorgWarner/Supply management
Must be self-motivated/directed
Requires minimal management input to achieve objectives
CPM /CPSM certification preferred
