This role at Enphase requires working onsite 3 days a week, with plans to transition back to a full 5 day in office schedule over time.

About the Role

We are looking for a product manager for our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) product. The Enphase VPP offering is now expanding beyond solar and battery solutions. We are integrating smart electric vehicle charging, smart grid-ready heat pumps and intelligent appliances into the VPP. Our objective is to provide a system that optimizes the power and energy for our partners and makes assets available for various energy markets.
The Product Manager will work with our customers (both grid operators and large Installers), sales and applications teams as well as offshore product development teams to specify, develop, launch in further markets, and enhance our comprehensive VPP. The role will require presence in Bangalore, India. Working remotely is acceptable for 2 out of the 5 days in a week. The role will report to the Director of Product Management based in Munich, Germany and will require extensive interaction with offshore teams in USA, Europe, and Australia. Proficiency in English to enable productive cross-functional interaction is, therefore, a necessity.

What you will be doing

Become the face of the solution for customers, the VOC (Voice of the Customer) for internal stakeholders and own the design of our API and VPP product. Be obsessed with our customers -- who they are, what their needs and pain points are, why they trust certain products and not others, etc.

• Drive meetings with partners and utilities. Understand and document energy markets across the globe along with hardware and software interfaces to enable them to be integrated into the Enphase VPP

• Understand the prevalence/adoption of smart appliances in the market and work with sales & installers to recognize the business priority integrating controllable assets

• Define system requirements and document customer-facing sequence of operations for new solutions

• Guide development teams develop solutions and prioritize activities by communicating specifications and business priorities

• Conduct periodic product backlog reviews, prioritizing with buy-in from all stakeholders, and representing business, customer, and partner impact

• Own the end-to-end product development process, including business case definition, writing and scoping product requirements, creating feature specifications, testing and validating pre-release product, and more

• Define, track, and analyze metrics and measures for product performance

• Develop product-related content in support of sales and account management teams

• Conduct competitive assessments and understand what other VPPs are offering in the market or developing

• Manage relationships with partners (utilities, grid operators, large installers, etc)

Who you are and What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline like Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics is required

• Either a masters in an engineering discipline or an MBA from a reputed institution is good to have

• At least 3+ years of professional experience in a Product Management or Software Development role or an equivalent functional leadership role in product development is required

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Natural peer and team leadership skills

• Desire to work in a highly visible and critical role

• Ability and willingness to work with offshore teams

• Prior experience in battery storage, EV, PV inverter or power engineering domains

• Experience in a company that offers energy management or VPP solutions with an understanding of the algorithms involved is a huge bonus
