About Our Location

Marlborough, MA is a beautiful small city in central Massachusetts, surrounded by quaint  Massachusetts towns and within a day-trip distance of the Berkshires, White Mountains, and Cape Cod. For those who prefer a more urban lifestyle, we are located directly off I-495 within  easy commuting distance of Boston and Cambridge (30-40 minutes), Worcester (25 minutes),  Nashua, NH (45 minutes) and Providence, RI (50 minutes).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a prototype machine shop where you will operate and guide others in operating prototyping equipment safely and efficiently (3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, basic workshop power tools, etc.).

  • Manage the safety and cleanliness of the prototyping machine shop.

  • Recommend tooling and equipment to improve producibility of stack designs.

  • Prototype and assemble electrochemical components and cells to support testing objectives.

  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues with equipment as well as manufactured parts.

  • Recommend design changes to improve manufacturability of stack components and assembly of stack components.

  • Record appropriate data, analyze, and report the results to a cross-functional team.

  • Generate SOPs and guide team mates in meeting SOP requirements.

  • Own and meet milestones using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related fields or B.A. in same with production experience.

  • Fundamental knowledge of electrochemistry, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat & mass transfer, chemical kinetics, and materials.

  • Electrochemical engineering development experience in a relevant field such as fuel cell, electrolyzer, and flow battery.

  • Ability to think critically.

  • Mechanically inclined.

  • Execution/results-oriented mindset.

  • Hands on experience running 3D prototyping technologies (e.g., CNC, 3D printers).

  • Demonstrated experience using various CAD software tools.

  • Ability to develop code to run machine shop equipment and 3D printers from CAD generated designs.

  •  A “maker’s mindset”: comfortable bringing ideas quickly from paper to prototype.

  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing processes and responsibilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A safety-first mindset; share potential risks with others before they result in hazardous outcomes.

  • Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work independently.

  • The ability to set priorities while juggling multiple tasks.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.

  • Must be comfortable lifting heavy objects.

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • 5+ years working in a prototyping environment

  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques

  • Experience with Solid Works
