Are you looking for an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and growing team?We currently have an exciting opportunity as an Assembly/Disassembly Operator. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia, and reports to the Ductile Iron Supervisor. The work schedule is Mo - Fri from 6am until 2.30pm. This position will start at $21.71 per hour.<h2>Job Summary </h2>We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible to receive, inspect and prepare parts for production operations in the Ductile Iron department! This includes performing assembly and packaging operations as listed below.<h2>Principal Responsibilities </h2><ul><li>Visually inspect all incoming castings and gaskets for defects</li><li>Trim excess flashing with razor according to specifications</li><li>Use plug gauges to verify that each part meets specifications</li><li>Identify and separate all rejected parts for resolution by Quality Control</li><li>Maintain grinding wheel inventory – order replacement stock through D.I. Supervisor or lead person as required</li><li>Use hand tools, compressed air tools, and various substances to assemble fittings</li><li>Complete production reports, read work orders and ensure protocol is updated to safety standards</li><li>Incumbent may be responsible to unload trucks from foundries as well as ensure Lean methodologies such as 5S and TPM</li><li>Process all vital documentation per customer requirements</li><li>Be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.</li></ul><h2>Requirements </h2><ul><li>Be 18 years of age or older.</li></ul><ul><li>High School graduate or equivalent.</li></ul><h2>Tools &amp; Equipment </h2><ul><li>Large and small grinders</li></ul><ul><li>Compressed air tools</li><li>Overhead crane experience preferred</li><li>Inspection tools and gauges, check pipes, micrometers</li><li>Utility knife, tape applicator, basic hand tools</li></ul><h2>Work Environment </h2><ul><li>Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting to a maximum of 150 lbs.</li><li>Working on raised surfaces (ladders, machines, work platforms)</li><li>Regular work in a fluctuating temperature environment (indoor &amp; outdoor).</li><li>Exposure to grease, dirt, and some industrial chemicals.</li><li>The use of standard personal protective equipment is used and includes some of the following: safety glasses and splash shield, gloves and apron, safety shoes, harness, Hi-Vis clothing.</li></ul><h2>Benefits </h2><ul><li>Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage options</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Short and Long term Disability</li><li>401k and company match</li><li>Paid Holiday and Vacation</li><li>Reimburse COBRA costs while transitioning to IPEX benefits</li></ul>Harco Fittings LLC is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
