Building on our years of great work and growth, this VP will lead a team to expand and deepen key partnerships; design and lead the implementation of a partnership strategy for businesses and educational and medical institutions; and lead effective brand, marketing, and communications strategies. This role centers on establishing and managing relationships with partners, building and honing ELM’s external communications, and expanding ELM’s profile, reputation, and resources.  Responsibilities:  Corporate Engagement and Partnership Development <ul><li>Drive the growth, stewardship, and impact of the ELM Corporate Council  </li></ul><ul><li>Build and lead the strategy to cultivate and steward partnerships with corporations, mission-aligned businesses, and business associations  </li></ul><ul><li>Build partnerships that create shared value, including sponsorships, joint initiatives, employee engagement programs, and cause marketing </li></ul><ul><li>Represent ELM with business leaders and at corporate events; deepen ELM's reputation as an effective leader and partner on climate and environmental policy  </li></ul><ul><li>Track emerging priorities in the business and sustainability sectors to anticipate opportunities for strategic alignment  </li></ul>Strategic Communications, Brand, and Marketing <ul><li>Drive creation and implementation of a communications, brand, and marketing strategy that advances ELM and the ELM Action Fund’s organizational goals </li></ul><ul><li>Manage ELM’s Communications Team, ensuring clear strategic direction and leveraging opportunities for impact </li></ul><ul><li>Guide ELM’s voice, positioning, and narrative and ensure consistency across channels </li></ul><ul><li>Ensure communication efforts—digital, press, storytelling, campaigns, collateral, and events—are aligned with strategic plan  </li></ul><ul><li>Advise on messaging for the President, senior staff, and Policy Team, especially regarding external partnerships and public-facing initiatives  </li></ul><ul><li>Build ELM’s brand, visibility, and reputation among policymakers, business audiences, funders, and the public  </li></ul>Organizational Strategy and Cross-Team Integration <ul><li>Serve as a member of ELM’s Leadership Team: Advise on organization-wide issues, drive collaboration and alignment among teams, refine strategic priorities, build progress towards mission and alignment with values </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate closely with Board and senior leadership to integrate partnerships and communications into organizational strategic planning and priorities </li></ul><ul><li>Drive initiatives to engage partners in support of ELM’s policy and program priorities </li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate with development, policy, and program staff to maximize the impact of external engagement  </li></ul><ul><li>Develop annual goals for partnerships, communications, and brand awareness ensuring accountability and measurable success  </li></ul><ul><li>Advise Events Team on building a strategic calendar of events </li></ul> Revenue Generation <ul><li>Convert partnerships into financial support when appropriate, including sponsorships, corporate giving, and joint fundraising efforts – in collaboration with the Development Team  </li></ul><ul><li>Identify innovative revenue opportunities tied to partnerships, strategic events, and co-branded initiatives  </li></ul><ul><li>Drive grant proposals and corporate pitches that align with partnership strategy  </li></ul>Qualifications:  Required <ul><li>Infectious enthusiasm for <a href="https://www.environmentalleague.org/about/">ELM’s mission and commitment to ELM’s values.</a> </li></ul><ul><li>An aptitude for identifying productive collaborations and building shared value. Strong management skills; ability to delegate, mentor, and coach to empower </li></ul><ul><li>Experience developing, overseeing, or executing communications strategy for an organization or brand  </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborative, “all-hands-on deck” orientation around getting work done </li></ul><ul><li>Commitment to integrating racial justice and equity into ELM’s work and to ensuring an inclusive organizational culture </li></ul><ul><li>Strong editorial judgment and ability to craft compelling narratives and messages across diverse audiences  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience engaging with press, shaping media strategy, and coaching organizational leaders for interviews or public appearances  </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to translate complex issues into accessible, persuasive stories for business stakeholders and the public  </li></ul><ul><li>Experience with digital communications, content strategy, and creative direction  </li></ul><ul><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to build rapport easily with a diverse array of stakeholders </li></ul>Preferred <ul><li>Experience with Massachusetts stakeholders and/or energy and environmental policy  </li><li>Experience developing partnerships with private sector foundations, corporate sustainability and/or government relations professionals  </li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits: $150,000-$170,000, depending on experience. ELM provides generous paid time off, health insurance, Health Reimbursement Account, and a 403(b) retirement plan with organizational match. This full-time role requires occasional morning and evening commitments outside of the standard 9-5 office hours.
