<p></p><p>The Staff Auditor supports the Internal Audit department in performing financial, operational, compliance, and data-driven audits at Argonne National Laboratory.</p><p>This role offers hands-on experience in auditing, data analytics, and compliance with federal requirements while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. You will work under close supervision, receive structured training, and contribute to audits that support the laboratory’s mission.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Assist in planning, conducting, and documenting audits of financial, operational, compliance, contract, and IT areas in accordance with Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) Standards.</li><li>Perform data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, or risks within laboratory datasets.</li><li>Support testing of internal controls for compliance with DOE orders, FAR requirements, and other federal guidelines.</li><li>Assist with audits of cost allowability, subcontractor oversight, procurement processes, and indirect cost allocations.</li><li>Develop and maintain organized, accurate audit workpapers.</li><li>Help prepare audit findings, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies.</li><li>Participate in follow-up reviews to verify the implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function.</li><li>Participate in training to build expertise in federal contractor and national laboratory auditing practices.</li><li><p>This position is mostly on-site and requires the ability to maintain a minimum of three-day per week on-site presence at the Argonne National Laboratory site in Lemont, Illinois.
