We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.JOB OVERVIEWThe Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data, and managing the accounting team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial integrity, compliance with relevant regulations, and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will also work closely with senior management to provide insightful financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.JOB DUTIES<ul style=""><li>Oversee general ledger activities, including month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.</li><li>Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial forecasts to provide actionable insights to senior management.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including audits and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).</li><li>Conduct research on complex accounting issues, including new accounting pronouncements, and assess their impact on the company’s financial statements. Provide guidance and recommendations for implementation of new standards (e.g., lease accounting, revenue recognition, etc.).</li><li>Implement and maintain a strong system of internal controls, ensuring accurate financial data and mitigating risks of fraud or error.</li><li>Prepare the accurate and timely recognition of revenue, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606).</li><li>Partner with sales and operations to ensure correct recording of revenue transactions.</li><li>Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and payments.</li><li>Oversee and monitor inventory accounting processes, including physical inventory counts, inventory reconciliations, and valuation methods.</li><li>Ensure proper cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and reporting of inventory levels.</li><li>Ensure compliance with lease accounting standards (ASC 842), including maintaining accurate records of leases, calculating right-of-use assets, and lease liabilities, and ensuring proper amortization schedules.</li><li>Coordinate external audits and provide necessary documentation and support for the completion of audits.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.</li></ul>EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, &amp; SKILLSRequired Experience, Qualifications, and Skills<ul style=""><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li><li>6+ years of total accounting experience preferably at a mid-sized or large public company</li><li>4+ years public accounting experience</li><li>2-3 years managing a team and/or multiple Accounting functions</li><li>Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Netsuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.</li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly in areas like revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and equity accounting.</li><li>Excellent organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and data management.</li><li>Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting discrepancies and process inefficiencies.</li></ul>Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills<ul style=""><li>CPA certified.</li><li>Experience with robotics or manufacturing companies.</li><li>Experience working in a newly public company is a significant plus.</li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance and financial reporting for public companies is highly desirable.</li></ul>Additional Information:Location: Remote - San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Austin Preferred
