Talen Energy is seeking an Accountant that will be reporting to the Accounting Manager and based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Accountant is a critical member of the plant operations accounting team performing the accounting, reporting, and analysis of various PJM fossil and nuclear plant activities, as well as supporting the development and application of US GAAP accounting policies and maintaining internal controls.This position is responsible for accounting activity related to margins, capital projects, operating expense, and various balance sheet accounts. Responsibilities may involve activities related to new business initiatives as well as complying with the control (SOX) environment of the Company. The ability to correctly account for a wide range of activity and proactively identify and resolve accounting issues is a critical success factor for the candidate.The ideal candidate enjoys fostering teamwork, a collaborative approach with colleagues, and a strategic thinking environment which culminates in a “work hard and reap the rewards” culture of a Publicly Traded Independent Power Producer.
