<div>Last Energy is building the financial infrastructure to support development of micro modular nuclear power plants. As Controller, this role will own the accounting function, maintaining the processes, controls, and systems that support project and financial reporting.</div><br><br><h3>Key Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h3><ul><div><li>Own the full accounting close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting</li><li>Maintain a chart of accounts, cost coding structure, and accounting policies</li><li>Oversee and develop the accounting team, including the staff accountants, project accountants, etc.</li><li>Ensure audit-ready documentation and internal controls are in place at all times, commensurate with a highly regulated industry environment</li><li>Administer and optimize NetSuite as the company's ERP, ensuring the system scales with project activity</li><li>Oversee corporate expenses, card spend controls, and related reconciliations, ensuring policy compliance and accurate project cost allocation</li><li>Manage relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory bodies</li><li>Enforce and enhance procurement accounting controls</li><li>Support project financing, bonding, and insurance requests with organized, accurate financial documentation</li><li>Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></div></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><div><li>10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a public company Controller or Assistant Controller role</li><li>Currently licensed in Texas as a CPA</li><li>Experience in construction, energy, defense, or another highly regulated capital project environment is a plus</li><li>Deep NetSuite expertise — you have configured, optimized, and scaled NetSuite in a prior role</li><li>Strong understanding of construction or project accounting, including job costing, committed costs, budget management, and procurement accounting</li><li>Experience with SOX control systems</li><li>Technical accounting experience to support PCAOB-level audits</li><li>Proven ability to build accounting processes and controls in a lean or startup environment</li><li>Experience managing and developing accounting teams</li><li>NetSuite experience preferred</li></div></ul><br>
