This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain deep exposure to M&amp;A transactions, technical accounting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment.You will contribute to our team by:Pre-Acquisition Due Diligence Support<ul><li>Assist in financial and accounting due diligence for potential acquisitions, including review of financial statements, accounting policies, supporting schedules, and managing third party advisors.</li><li>Help identify and document financial risks, liabilities, and accounting discrepancies identified during diligence.</li><li>Research target company compliance with IFRS and/or US GAAP and flag deviations for review by the Senior Lead.</li><li>Prepare diligence workpapers, summaries, and data room trackers to support transaction timelines.</li></ul>Accounting &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Assist in documenting accounting treatment for acquisition-related transactions, including purchase price allocation, goodwill, and contingent consideration.</li><li>Support preparation of financial disclosures and audit documentation related to acquisitions.</li><li>Assist in responding to external auditor inquiries and gathering supporting evidence.</li><li>Assist in financial and accounting due diligence for potential acquisitions, including review of financial statements, accounting policies, and supporting schedules.</li><li>Help identify and document financial risks, liabilities, and accounting discrepancies identified during diligence.</li><li>Research target company compliance with IFRS/GAAP and flag deviations for review by the Senior Lead.</li><li>Prepare diligence workpapers, summaries, and data room trackers to support transaction timelines.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Support<ul><li>Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&amp;A, and IT teams on integration workstreams.</li><li>Prepare analysis, presentations, and reports to support senior stakeholders on integration status and financial findings.</li></ul>What you will bring to the role: Education: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program, with completion expected within the next 12 months.</li><li>CFA, CBV, or other relevant designations will also be an asset.</li></ul>Experience: <ul><li>3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or finance; experience in public company accounting is an asset.</li><li>Prior experience in a Big 4 or large national public accounting firm is highly valued;</li><li>Exposure to M&amp;A, transaction advisory, or finance integration is a plus but not required.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.</li><li>Experience working in a publicly traded company or regulated industry is considered an advantage.</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Foundational understanding of IFRS, particularly as they relate to financial reporting and business combinations.</li><li>US GAAP knowledge is highly valued; but not required;</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is beneficial.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings clearly to peers and senior colleagues.</li><li>Comfortable working with project management tools and maintaining organized workpapers and documentation.</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>Hybrid work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday – Thursday.  Office hours are 8am – 5pm.</li><li>Overtime hours required during peak periods.</li><li>Some light travel required within North America.</li></ul>Additional Details:Wage Range: $49.11 to $58.57 per hourHours of Work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per weekUnion: CSU52 (T2)In order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.
