In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of our local waste and recycling facility. You will be responsible for greeting community members, directing them on proper disposal guidelines, maintaining a safe and clean site, and operating site equipment safely.  <h2>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Customer Service: Warmly greet residents and provide clear, polite guidance on where to dispose of household waste, bulk items, and recyclable materials.</li><li>Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility by sweeping, clearing debris, and picking up litter or spillage as needed.</li><li>Equipment &amp; Container Operations: Safely operate and monitor facility equipment (such as trash compactors) according to company safety procedures. Monitor container fill levels throughout the day.</li><li>Driver Coordination: Assist collection drivers with positioning, securing, or clearing area around waste containers during pickups.</li><li>Facility Operations: Open and close the facility punctually according to the scheduled operating hours.</li><li>Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety standards, regulations, and company guidelines.</li></ul><h2>Basic Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with the public and team members.</li><li>Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, safety procedures, and posted guidelines.</li><li>Basic math skills for general site reporting/tracking, if required.</li><li>Ability to work required shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.</li></ul><h2>Work Environment &amp; Physical Demands</h2><ul><li>Work Environment: Performs duties outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) approximately 90% of the time. Exposure to typical waste facility sounds and outdoor elements.</li><li>Physical Demands: Position involves standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and routine handling of materials.
