The primary purpose of the Fitter is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required.Your key responsibilities will be to:<ul><li>Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operation.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.</li><li>Coordinate with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure effective support for safety, quality, and operational improvements</li><li>Install, assemble and test new machinery and equipment as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with OEM manufacturers to install and commission equipment.</li><li>Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.</li><li>Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained.</li><li>Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards.</li><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent.</li></ul>Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:<ul><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment</li><li>Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner or similar.</li><li>Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent (desirable).</li><li>Forklift license (desirable).</li><li>Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment</li><li>General mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance &amp; repairs on manufacturing production lines</li><li>Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair.</li><li>A team player with a positive, self-motivated and proactive attitude is essential.</li><li>Able to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.</li><li>Stock control of relevant spare parts</li></ul>
