This a high impact role that will sit within the QA organization and will work closely with SPAN’s internal Software, Device Software and Hardware Engineering teams.</h2><h3>Role &amp; Responsibilities</h3><ul style=""><li>As QA Engineer, you will be expected to:<ul style=""><li>Conduct thorough testing of our mobile applications on various platforms (iOS and Android) to identify bugs, defects and usability issues.</li><li>Collaborate with mobile and firmware development teams to create comprehensive test plans, test cases and tooling for both automated and manual testing.</li><li>Develop and maintain automated tests using industry-standard test automation tools (Detox, React Native) and frameworks to ensure efficient regression testing.</li><li>Perform extensive manual testing on mobile devices to validate the application’s functionality, usability and compatibility across different devices and OS versions.</li><li>Perform extensive manual testing on panel to validate the application’s functionality, usability and compatibility across different SKUs and firmware versions.</li><li>Document defects, issues, and enhancement requests clearly and concisely.</li><li>Configure and maintain test environments, devices and simulators to facilitate automated testing activities.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers and designers to provide timely feedback and help prioritize bug fixes.</li><li>Identify areas for process improvement and actively contribute to enhancing software development and testing practices pertaining to automation.</li></ul></li></ul>About YouRequired Qualifications<ul style=""><li>BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or industry equivalent experience</li><li>Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer - Mobile role testing on iOS and Android platforms.</li><li>Testing firmware, hardware / IoT products in addition to software</li><li>Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test case design and automated testing.</li><li>Writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases</li><li>Testing Mobile apps with Android and iOS (native and web-based)</li><li>Android Studio and XCode</li><li>Experience with CI/CD tools and Github (i.e, CircleCI, Docker).</li><li>Effective communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail</li><li>White and Gray box testing</li><li>Experience with test plan management tools like Testrail</li><li>Working knowledge in one of SPAN’s coding language: Python, Javascript, TypeScript.</li></ul>Bonus QualificationsWe would love to hire someone who has:<ul style=""><li>Experience working in a startup environment</li><li>Experience with or preference for a rapid or continuous release cadence</li><li>Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.</li><li>Experience w/ GraphQL or GRPC</li><li>Experience working in the Renewable Energy industry</li></ul><h2>Life at SPAN</h2>Our Bengaluru team plays a pivotal role in SPAN’s continued growth and expansion.
