Job Description

The Sunrun Product Management team plays a critical role in our company’s success by collectively owning and evolving our industry leading solar and storage products. As the Director of Product Management for Battery Storage, you will lead a team of Product Managers, and influence a broad set of stakeholders inside and outside of Sunrun, to advance and scale our battery storage offering. 

 

To do so, you will need to coalesce our company around a battery storage strategy and roadmap; evangelize, influence and lead the continuous improvement of Sunrun’s battery storage capabilities across the company; and spearhead a product team to execute against a broad set of initiatives to take our battery storage offering to the next level, including negotiating partnerships with battery storage vendors.

 

The Director of Product Management role for Battery Storage is among the most rigorous and rewarding jobs at Sunrun. We are looking for a highly talented and driven individual who is excited to take on this challenge.

Responsibilities:

  • Own our battery product end-to-end, from strategy to execution, and make this product the best in the industry, improving value for Sunrun and our customers
  • Develop and manage battery roadmap to drive company-wide and battery-specific OKRs
  • Actively develop the skills and capabilities of our battery product team, and contribute to the advancement of our product capabilities and culture at Sunrun 
  • Lead negotiations with battery vendors to ensure that we enable the right hardware solution set for the market
  • Drive new product launches in collaboration with a wide range of functional groups
  • Diligently manage products using metrics-driven approach and continuously improve on key metrics
  • Evangelize products, strategy and roadmap with various functional groups across Sunrun (particularly with sales) and drive excitement
  • Ensure messaging of key product features, processes, expectations, performance, etc. is accurate, clear, and delivered consistently across departments
  • Stay up to date on changes to our industry and business processes, identify impact of changes on all processes, materials, and messaging, and work with departments to ensure changes are absorbed
