You’ll be working as part of the Resourcing Partnerships team at OVO Energy where our key focus is to place the customer at the heart of everything we do. Your team will be the first point of contact for our OVO Energy customers, delivering an awarding winning service we can be proud of. A service which, most recently, earned us the title uSwitch Supplier of the Year 2019!

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project support role requires you to fulfil many major functions of project management and support the delivery of major outsourcing, offshoring and repatriation projects valued at up to £5m. Being a fast learner, having the ability to build excellent relationships right from the off, understanding when to dive into the detail and when to rely on the support of the project manager to guide on key decisions and activities will be integral to this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the management of a portfolio of sophisticated projects that span multiple lines of business
  • Conduct project activities that lead to successful project delivery from initiation to deployment for several projects simultaneously
  • Chairing meetings, facilitate conversations and formally document and record minutes and actions from project meetings, ensuring that actions are supervised through to completion
  • Record changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs through formal controls
  • Supporting and carrying out Project routines and governance e.g. change management, action and RAID logs and plan management
  • Lead and maintain an effective Change Management process across the OVO Group into our external Partners, ensuring that all change is delivered on time with no disruption to service

Ideally you will have:

  • Very strong organisational, management and problem-solving skills and mentality
  • A consistent track record working in a highly complex programme environment with multiple projects running simultaneously
  • Highly articulate with effective written, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Experience of chairing/facilitating meetings, tailoring agendas and formal minute taking
  • Self-starter, ability to identify and pre-empt problems and issues others might have missed
  • Outstanding leadership skills
  • Talent in communication to effectively build and retain strong and credible relationships with internal and external partners across all management levels and tailoring the communication approach accordingly
  • Behaviours which are influential, thoughtful and persistent with stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome
  • A Drive and a talent to get things done in large complex organisations
  • A resilience to persevere when others would fail, finding a solution to any challenge and to thrive in a frequently changing project environment
  • Supported and facilitated the delivery of change in line with a change governance framework
