OVERVIEW
Beyond Meat seeks a highly analytical and experienced Production Planning Manager to join our team. As a Production Planning Manager, you are responsible for the master production plan, coordination with production locations and the Sales & Marketing organizations to ensure the continuous supply of finished goods product while maintaining austerity in working capital, logistics and management of scrap.  A successful candidate in this role can blend quantitative research and qualitative analysis to plan factory production to meet demand.  They are also proficient in recognizing gaps in materials, WIP and/or logistics that hinder the plan and seek to resolve them with the appropriate partner organization.  Candidate is adept at communicating needs with partner organizations and resolving systemic issues that are a barrier to enterprise success.  Additionally, the candidate is a competent people manager that is effective in managing and delegating effectively to direct and matrixed resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day-to-day activities
  • Manages direct and matrixed employees to ensure optimized factory schedules to continuously meet the sales demand
  • Uses Excel, Netsuite and Demand Caster or other such tools as necessary to plan and schedule factory, WIP between factories and/or finished goods to meet inventory targets and ultimately meet customer demand
  • Responsible for managing working capital to required targets while ensuring stock levels sufficient to meet the changing demand
  • Communicates production schedule broadly to enterprise wide organizations, surfaces and resolves schedule conflicts quickly.
  • Resolves routine conflicts efficiently with peers and superiors and escalates issues when necessary
  • Coordinates the maintenance, development and alignment of tools with the manager of supply chain analytics and continuous improvement as required
  • Influencing and Optimizing:
  • Identifies root cause of chronic issues, proposes improvements to solve  issues, reaches consensus on plan and aligns implementation and execution
  • Negotiates allocation of limited capacities with partner organizations with minimal input from management
  • Strategic activities:
  • Participates, actively drives and champions adoption of newly implemented systems, procedures and tools
  • Is and is perceived as Subject Matter Expert for Production Planning organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or master’s with 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience production planning experienced in rapidly growing company with emerging tools and processes.
  • 5+ years of experience using quantitative tools and code (Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word. Advanced report writing experience, pivot table experience and data graphing required.
  • College-level math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages and margins
  • Strong knowledge of ERP inventory systems 
  • High tolerance of ambiguity and comfortable working to weekly deliverables in a highly complex and collaborative environment.
  • Able to surface and resolve resource conflicts as necessary at all levels of the company.
  • Strong demonstrated history of problem solving using analytical techniques.
  • Lean Six Sigma exposure a plus.
