SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Director, Project Finance to help drive the Company’s Project Financing strategy.  Reporting to the Vice President of Capital Markets, this team member will help to mentor and develop a group of talented associates and analysts; all with the mission of building our best-in-class asset base for our long-term management and ownership.  

They will be responsible for managing relations between key long-term partners and strategic investors and performing risk management for Nexamp’s growing portfolio of commercial solar projects. The Director of Project Finance will play an essential role in the Nexamp project value chain and financing capabilities. Working closely with our Development teams, this individual will be responsible for developing new market models and collaborating with Capital Markets to incubate a proactive growth strategy.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform crucial role in managing project and portfolio-level risk ensuring that financial hurdle rates are met, construction and community solar milestones are identified and key development items are completed.
  • Support business and corporate development teams on mid to long-term development projects (e.g. geographical expansion, new product offerings, etc.)
  • Work with internal business units (DPI team, Integration Director, etc.) to streamline financial models (automation, efficiency, speed, feasibility of use, etc.) in addition to building out certain aspects of the financial model (asset management calculator, O&M calculator, energy rates database, EPC / design, etc.)
  • Manage multiple workflows and internal relationships simultaneously through delegation to and oversight of junior members of the Project Finance team
  • Keep an active pulse on various levers that drive financial model economics through routine interaction with lenders, investors, advisors, etc.
  • Specialize in structuring acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and equity investments across utility scale, distributed generation, photovoltaic and battery storage assets.
  • Work cross functionally with Nexamp’s EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), Community Solar, and Development teams to optimize financing solutions.
  • Develop value propositions by understanding financial incentive programs in key target markets.
  • Represent the Company with the highest level of professionalism to investors, partners, and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, results-oriented, and operate well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 

  • 5+ years of relevant project finance experience either with a developer or investment firm in either: renewable energy space, or investment banking track in real estate infrastructure, or power energy/power/utilities. 
  • The ideal candidate should have experience in financing power projects (renewables, particularly solar and storage, preferred). 
  • Desire to lead, manage and develop a team of Project Finance members.
  • Proven experience running complex financial models and making key business decisions based on results. 
  • Exceptional Presentation Skills: experience presenting to Senior Management is required. 
  • Candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and will be strong in cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
