Salary: £83,000 - £95,000

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You’ll be working on Kaluza’s Flexibility platform. Designed to be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid operators, and consumers, Flex will aid us in creating the distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system of the future. Bridging the gap between distributed renewable generation and smart devices, it helps consumers shift their energy consumption to times when there's more renewable energy. This not only saves them money, but enables society as a whole to meet the challenge of decarbonising transport and residential heating/cooling. We’re also supporting this vital shift by building the innovative technology behind unique, market-leading customer propositions like Vehicle to Grid and Drive Anytime Energy Plan with our energy retailer partners.

 

What will I be doing?

As Solutions Lead for Kaluza’s Flex Product you will be responsible for understanding the needs of prospective and existing customers and designing solutions to help them achieve their goals. You will report to the Head of Client Solutions and play a direct role in sales to Kaluza’s clients globally. The Solutions Lead will be the expert on Kaluza’s Flex products from a client or user perspective and provide key input to the sales process. You will play a crucial role in the technical side of a sale, evangelising Kaluza’s Flex product and applying a consultative approach to helping customers understand what the product can do for them. You will build a close relationship with Kaluza’s product marketing and product teams, continuously funnelling feedback to inform short term and long term product roadmaps. 

The Solutions Lead will also be responsible for using energy and flexibility market expertise along with your strong analysis skills to evaluate the performance of the platform in delivering outcomes to clients. You will become an expert in Kaluza’s flex product and working with the data it produces to derive insights about its historic performance and evaluate future performance for new devices types and markets.

 

Some example activities include;

  • Supporting sales pitches to new clients and demoing Kaluza Flex products
  • Working with existing and prospective clients to understand their current technology solutions & identifying the goals that Kaluza can help them deliver
  • Architecting & presenting client specific Kaluza based solutions and demonstrating the outcomes these will deliver clients
  • Analysis of data from Flex programs with specific clients to prepare insights and materials for the client that validate the value Kaluza delivers and drive relationships forward
  • Modelling and analysis of the flex potential of new product configurations in early stages of development on the platform (e.g. smart thermostats with A/C, heat pumps etc.)
  • Analysis of product and market data to spot opportunities for a potential client and aid the delivery of product trials 
  • Developing client-specific proposals

Desirable Knowledge and skills

  • Experience of SaaS sales a plus
  • Understanding of the energy industry and the energy transition

 

What experience you’ll need:

  • +2 years work experience in software sales, consulting or in a relevant client organisation working in energy
  • Strong analytical skills developed through experience of extracting, analysing and deriving insights from large, complex data sets
  • Ability to communicate clearly and distil complex concepts into easy to understand points
  • Experience in a role that demonstrates a customer centric focus
  • Know when and how to measure success. You don’t just use data, you know when to use what sort of data and the questions you need to help you answer
  • Equally comfortable working with leaders and team members alike
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing market needs
