Job Description

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels. 

Our team is looking for local candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area for our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager role. Your main responsibilities are to coordinate, develop and oversee our EHS program, ensuring our policies are compliant. You will have daily interaction with company leadership to ensure all environmental, health and safety regulations are adhered to.

You will be based in our office in San Carlos, CA with oversight of our San Jose site and supporting our Natick, MA site. You will report to our VP of Business Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy and monitor all EHS programs, procedures, policies and standards in a manner that ensures compliance to Federal, State, Local, Customer and Corporate requirements
  • Ensure systems are in place to achieve compliance with all OSHA and other regulatory agencies
  • Conduct a job hazard analysis on existing procedures to develop best practices
  • Coordinate and manage hazardous, non-regulated, universal, general waste and reduction programs
  • Assess, track and analyze EHS program performance to identify risks and establish recommendations to alleviate hazards and leverage opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in our safety culture
  • Build out compliance and regulatory safety training and safety committees as well as our internal EHS audits, data generation and record retention
  • Deliver annual reports on site environmental performance (waste and emission data) and safety performance in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety or health discipline from an accredited institution
  • 8+ years of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing/research environment
  • Experience with electrical safety
  • Working knowledge of chemical processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience in supporting EHS processes and administrative task

Compensation & Benefits

Facilities EH&S Manager (M3):

San Carlos Zone
$155,000$200,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
