Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You will be working within the Ovo Finance Team.

What will I be doing?

The Ovo Group employs approximately 4000 people, across a diverse range of brands and roles, including a mobile workforce out in the field.   

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Ovo’s People, Reward, and Payroll teams to review all relevant processes in the business and ensure robust controls are in place. 
  • Ensure the Group’s processes and controls are documented adequately, including to support compliance with the Senior Accounting Officer regime.  
  • Manage all employment tax aspects of employee benefits, working particularly closely with Reward as new benefits are introduced. 
  • Be the point of contact with HMRC for employment tax matters, including leading our response to questions and queries from HMRC.   
  • Reviewing processes in relation to employment tax filings (for example the PSA) to consider improvements, including using/implementing technology where appropriate
  • Provide ad hoc advice to the business as and when required, including in relation to Ovo’s international businesses.  
  • Provide advice regarding and monitor controls in relation to IR35.

Is this the job for me?

The ideal candidate should have some or all of the following  competencies:

  • CTA qualified
  • Significant experience of managing employment tax matters and associated risks in a large corporate environment. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Organised and thorough in approach with a keen attention to detail and willingness to dig and investigate to resolve problems.
  • Comfortable with proposing, initiating and driving change and supporting this by implementing processes. 
  • An ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) and present tax information to non tax colleagues with clarity. 
  • An ability to build relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Enjoy working in a changing environment.
