Role Description
We are looking for a Business Operations Extern to directly enable Form’s multi-day energy storage technology development and scale-up. As part of our rapidly growing Supply Chain organization, you will report to the Staff Global Supply Manager and engage cross-functionally with many teams, including Engineering, Program Management, Site Operations, Finance, Advanced Manufacturing, and more. You will “wear many hats,” executing high priority projects across the Operations organization, including the Supply Chain, Site Operations, and Procurement functions. 

You will be responsible for synthesizing complex, evolving sets of data and information from both internal and external sources, and translating them into actionable tasks and outputs to support Form’s rapid development. You will have both internal and external touch-points with a multitude of stakeholders, while creating and executing strategies to drive productive supplier engagements, streamline business processes, drive down costs, and mitigate existential risks to Form. This is an opportunity to bring your quantitative rigor, creative thinking, and a gritty work ethic to solve complex problems across the company, while developing positive and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors alike - ultimately making an impact on our mission to tackle climate change. 


What You'll Do:

  • Conduct market research, develop POVs, generate analyses, and create should-cost models for critical battery components to flag high-priority opportunities and supply risks
  • Develop holistic cost models and strategic risk assessments around Form’s product(s)
  • Maintain & improve robust tracking tools for relevant commodities and price indices
  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and negotiate with suppliers across categories
  • Investigate and optimize inbound and outbound logistics pathways
  • Support Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) and policy analyses
  • Optimize and execute general business processes to maximize Form’s efficiency
  • Communicate insights to key stakeholders around Form, including upper management

What You'll Bring:

  • Quantitative, analytical, data-driven decision maker 
  • >2 years professional experience in consulting, supply chain, procurement, or mechanical engineering 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize efforts, and effectively communicate progress and strategic roadmaps
  • Superior analytical and verbal communication skills; high proficiency in Excel a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, supply chain, finance, engineering or other quantitative discipline
  • Must be able to work in the US and travel globally as necessary throughout the 4-6 months of externship

The salary range for this role is $8000 - $8500 per month. The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
