Business Development, Marketplace Partnerships

As the first API in the world for carbon credits, Cloverly is in a leadership position in building a new industry that the world deeply needs. This person will play a pivotal role in helping direct investment into carbon removal technologies and other high quality projects that help us reach our climate goals.

 

Responsibilities:

This person will help build the best marketplace in the world for high quality carbon removals and credits. This role will center upon increasing Cloverly’s inventory.  Responsibilities include:

  • Build a best-in-class ecosystem of marketplace partners across both technology and nature-based solutions
    • Understand the landscape of these solutions and have your pulse on the market
    • Refine partner and project vetting criteria
  • Source, vet, and sign new carbon partners that can help bring scale and variety of impactful carbon projects to our marketplace
  • Form and negotiate creative, optimized partnership terms and structures
  • Onboard, build, and manage partner relationships
  • Generate and support demand for your marketplace partners
    • Be the in-house expert in your partners’ domain (e.g. nature-based solutions)
    • Partner with the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to educate and pitch customers on these solutions
  • Collaborate with Director of Sustainability across these efforts
  • Work closely with CEO, sales, marketing, customer success, and product
  • Build and evolve scalable supply-side processes
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels in coordination with demand-side development
  • Play a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategy

 

You Might Be A Fit If You Have:

  • A passion for climate  
  • experience in carbon markets either developing, buying or selling carbon credits.
  • A strong network of relationships that spans across the global carbon markets
  • A deep understanding of carbon markets with a specific focus on carbon removals and track record of consultative selling, business development, and partner management
  • A strong bias for action and will to succeed; highly resourceful
  • An ability to learn, decide, and execute quickly, efficiently, and effectively
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and across all functions
  • A history of or a desire to work in a high growth, fast-changing startup
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills
  • Adaptability and comfortable amidst ambiguity, changing directives, and rapidly evolving market conditions
  • A reputation for being a hard working, no-ego, no-politics, honest, and accountable team player who constantly raises the bar and is passionate about making an impact
