SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a Supply Chain Director to lead and manage all activities relating to supply chain and logistics within Nexamp’s partner module manufacturing entity in the Duluth, MN area. This role requires significant travel, including up to 4 days a week onsite, and regular trips to our Chicago office. To be successful in this role you have a strong understanding of financial, procurement, manufacturing assembly and construction principles that support the successful solar module manufacturing of products. This role will drive cross-functional workflow improvements and seek to create a highly efficient supply chain eco-system that will generate value enterprise wide. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop sourcing strategy for Module’s supported through tie in with commodity strategy and domestic content requirements.
  • Aid in supplier selection with focus on identifying scalable suppliers early in the development phase.
  • Analyze quotations from different suppliers, utilizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) tools and should cost of the parts, components, etc.
  • Negotiate with the supplier the parts costs, tooling costs, and project timeline deliverables.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the costed bill of material (CBOM) for each specific products.
  • Own effective implementation of material related engineering change orders during the product development phases.
  • Responsible for overall product cost savings objectives related to new product launches.
  • Manage suppliers on time delivery (OTD) performance during prototype / development phases.
  • Own development of critical parts list, approved supplier control, and end of life component identification in the development phase.
  • Lead development of make/buy materials strategies with operations.
  • Ensure bill of material component list completeness and material readiness throughout phase gate process.
  • Own the accuracy of the material master record information for all newly created part numbers (up until part release to manufacturing).
  • Track, monitor, and control inventory for projects/programs involved.
  • Develop and own schedules related to material readiness for product as well as schedules of achieving product cost targets.
  • Own budget (CAPEX and expense) tracking of costs related to meeting material readiness dates.
  • Supplier benchmarking initiatives as required, ensuring competitive pricing in place.
  • Participate in supplier quality audits for conformance to corporate requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of comprehensive knowledge in procurement and logistics.
  • Demonstrated history in cost reduction and bidding techniques to maximize value.
  • Working knowledge of key equipment required for the construction of commercial and industrial scale solar photovoltaic systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • Experience in solar modular manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality toolbox, and problem solving.
  • Thorough knowledge of enterprise-wide business, financial, and construction IT platforms such as Procore, NetSuite, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office 365.
