What success will look like for the Senior System Safety Engineer

  • You will be coordinating the activities in the Safety Team, while managing multiple projects and delivering them on time. 
  • A career background in the design and development of safety-critical systems.
  • An interest in green technology in aviation.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of aircraft and/or system level safety assessments.
  • Awareness of the processes and requirements relevant to aircraft certification.
  • Knowledge of SAE ARP 4754A / 4761 and their application.
  • Experienced user of fault tree analysis tools (Reliability Work Bench/FT+ preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills to examine evidence to support a safety argument.

Everything sounds very interesting but how do I know this is the role for me? 

  • Education to degree level or higher in an Engineering discipline (Aeronautical, Mechanical or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of air vehicle design .Experience of working with multiple types of air vehicle including rotorcraft / multi rotors.
  • Experience with 2X.1309 analyses and guidance material.
  • Experience of System-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA) and its application to complex systems.
  • Experience of risk management and safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Participation in EUROCAE Working Groups (or similar).
  • Familiarity with Dassault Systemes engineering and management tools (3DX).
  • An understanding of the interrelationship between Cyber Security on Safety
  • A basic understanding of aviation software development and system communication protocols.
  • An understanding of RTCA DO-178C, and RTCA DO-254.

Our Ways of Working In the UK we have two offices and a Battery facility in Bristol, an office in London and a site in Kemble with well stocked free kitchen provisions including hot drinks, fruit and breakfasts every weekday. Our typical full time working week is 37.5 hours. We recognise the world of work is rapidly evolving and that 9-5 is no longer a fitting pattern for many.
