Role
Carbyon was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Dutch research institute TNO. While Carbyon was founded by Hans de Neve (Founder and CEO). Throughout the first years Carbyon primarily focused on fundamental research. The proof of concept so to say. However, while Carbyon still is an R&D driven scale-up, its gradually shifting into the next stage focused on delivering the first product.

And that’s where the role as COO comes in. You’ll be responsible to turn Carbyon from an R&D driven scale-up into a full-blown high-volume OEM providing DAC systems & service all over the world. To ultimately reach our mission; to restore the atmospheric carbon balance.

Responsibilities
While being part of the board, you’ll complement the CEO, CTO and CFO by being focused on the key responsibilities listed below;

• Take the lead in building an (internal) organization from 50 to 200-500 FTE and implement and improve business processes, (IT) systems, reward systems, KPI's that fit with the strategy and with such larger organizations (together with the CEO, CTO and CFO)
• Determine long term production strategy & set up Production & Supply Chain to go from several pilot DAC systems to above 1000 DAC systems per year. It will be crucial for Carbyon that mass production will be as efficient as possible as CAPEX/ton CO2 is a very important leaver for customers and highly dependent on a super-efficient production machine (Plant as a product; outsourced or own production)
• Manage large & complex (CAPEX Heavy) projects such as setting up factories abroad (depending on Production Strategy)
• Manage People & Culture Agenda
• Manage Key Customer contracts: ensure right contractual terms and conditions together with sales & CFO and safeguard execution of contracts (SQDC)
• Determine and execute strategy together with our CEO, CTO & CFO

• Is oke with coming to our office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven at least 3 days a week
