Chief of Staff (to Founders)

The Role:

• Serve as a trusted advisor, confidant and ‘force multiplier’ to the Founders. The Chief of Staff and founders work closely together to ensure the founder is able to achieve twice the output than they would do alone. This is a unique opportunity to see every aspect of a fast-growing Climate-Tech startup at the executive level.
• This is considered a leadership role. The core mission of the role is to complement the Founders  by being a cross-functional coordinator of work streams and key initiatives. The role is expected to act as the eyes, ears and sometimes the voice of the founders, acting at times as an ‘efficiency & productivity hack’ that ensures seamless optimisation and prioritisation of the founders’ time.

• Agriculture accounts for over 20% of global GHG emissions, and we believe that sustainable agriculture practices, or regenerative agriculture, has the power to reduce these while cooling the earth. Through technology, our goal is to understand the true environmental impact each farmer has on their land, and compensate farmers who change their farming practices to support climate change.

• We are a climate-tech startup empowering regenerative agriculture to help reverse climate change! At Mitti Labs, we believe regenerative agriculture is the most scalable & affordable solution to the climate crisis.
• Starting with Rice, the largest emitter within agriculture, our mission is to support small-holder farmers in transitioning from traditional farming to regenerative techniques with the goal of reducing and capturing GHG emissions.
• Mitti Labs uses machine learning, satellite imagery, and soil models to track farming practices, estimate GHG emissions, and compensate small-holder farmers for their transition towards more sustainable practices.

What You Will Help Us With:

• Strategic Initiatives: Identifying and taking on ad hoc strategic projects. Providing decision support through data gathering, information analysis and presenting considerations
• Communications: Designing and executing a corporate communication strategy. Drafting presentations, companywide communiques.
• Human Resources: Establishing the Talent Life Cycle. Overseeing diversity and culture initiatives. Aligning internal processes.
• Advisory: Serving as a trusted advisor and confidant to the Founders.
• Stakeholder Management: Managing critical internal and external relationships on behalf of the founders.
• Gatekeeper: Assessing inquiries directed to the founders. Vetting and prioritising engagements and workstreams.

Experience & Skills We're Looking For:

• 2+ years post academic experience in a business operations environment. Sector non-specific, however Climate-Tech, Agri-Tech, Strategy Consulting, Sustainability, or general entrepreneurial experience will be favoured.
• Proven success in project management, coordination and reporting. The ability to track multiple projects or priorities simultaneously.
• Must demonstrate a high level of proactivity.
• Capacity to develop strong internal and external relationship networks. Proven examples of senior internal and external stakeholder engagement a plus (executive level, investors, ministerial / state level)
• Proven ability to rapidly absorb new concepts, systems, processes.
• High EQ, Active Listener, Self-Directed.

Location:

• This role is fully remote. However, being located in India is preferred for this role given the growth of Mitti Labs' program in the region.
