About the Role

Wood Mackenzie is looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and experienced sales professional to drive the development of our business with investment banking and buy-side clients and prospects. You will be expected to grow your business in line with our ambitious quarterly targets.

The successful candidate will be a results-driven, credible individual who is comfortable in a high-profile position both inside and outside the organisation. They will create and maintain robust sales strategies focused on retention and growth across all Wood Mackenzie product segments. They will leverage our matrix organisation across customer support, technical sales, product and research to maximize growth.

This is a hybrid (in office/remote) role reporting to the Sales Director

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage large complex regional and global accounts by developing, coordinating, and implementing actionable sales strategies to meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Deliver new business sales across set territory and driving more companies to choose Wood Mac. Experience in displacement initiatives is preferrable
  • Develop networks and senior commercial relationships that lead to a deep understanding of clients’ existing needs and future requirements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of market and industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors and leading customer growth strategies
  • Produce a sales strategy for defined territories, identifying key stakeholders and develop initiatives to grow and build our business, and deliver against your target. You will be expected to network at all levels of a client organization including C-suite level.
  • Coordinate client support and retention efforts with customer success and research stakeholders.
  • Help maintain a sales culture of innovation, collaboration, and respect

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5-7+ years of relevant sales experience in B2B subscription-based sales in capital markets or financial services
  • Track record of overachieving revenue targets of $1.5M+ while successfully directing and closing six figure deals
  • Strong understanding of financial markets
  • Extensive track record of managing complex internal and external negotiations
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal and external organizations
  • A competent grasp of the banking workflow and organizational structure: including intersection of capital markets and the energy sector
  • Extensive experience in building client relationships and managing complex accounts
  • The ability to build new networks quickly and effectively, strong existing network is a plus
  • Establish and manage a robust pipeline and accurately forecast results via SalesForce
  • Team-oriented and collaborative nature
  • Self-motivated, passionate, intellectually curious and a results-oriented mind-set.

Expectations

  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 3 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.

  • Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.

The salary range for this position is $140,000- $150,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term incentive compensation or commission. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
