What you'll be working on

Foundation Alloy is seeking a powder production technician to join our manufacturing team. You will be working closely with a talented and collaborative group of engineers and materials scientists to operate and support our proprietary powder metal manufacturing processes and systems. Your tasks will include:

  • Being the subject matter expert for operating and maintaining our production equipment
  • Charging, operating, and discharging the multiple units according to the production schedule
  • Conducting baseline powder testing such as apparent and tap density, PSD, flowability tests, and LECO
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all powder production and ancillary equipment like vacuum pumps and gas delivery and monitoring systems
  • Helping define standard work for machine operations, lean manufacturing processes for powder production, and mechanical requirements for our factory floor
  • Supporting the development of powder handling methods and developing schedules for powder production based on customer orders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or a minimum 2 years experience in a mechanic or maintenance role, as a machine operator, or in a similar role.
  • Mechanical and manufacturing mindset; You enjoy understanding how things work, fixing things, and improving on processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a desire to work in a task oriented environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with engineers and PhDs
  • Ability to handle and lift 50 lbs.
