Reporting into the Reliability Manager the Toolmaker will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on all tooling
  • Carrying out version changes on tooling
  • Working closely with the maintenance team to analyse tool performance issues and develop and implement strategies for improvement in production, efficiency and quality
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting of tooling defects to limit downtime and improve the operational and effectiveness of the factory
  • Assisting in ensuring regular tool maintenance programs are carried out in accordance with the maintenance plans, and to the correct standard
  • Ensuring all relevant tool procedures & safe work method statements are filled out before tasks commence
  • Help develop Preventive Maintenance plans
  • Follow all site safety procedures

Operational (Results):

  • Achieve maintenance performance targets
  • Identify equipment & systems improvements that deliver OEE target
  • Achieve all above KPI’s
  • Support the site in achieving YEM targets and KPI’s
  • Support the staged roll out of Viscount’s annual improvement program
  • Support the build and delivery of the Site Strategy for Spare Parts Stores

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Toolmaker trade licence
  • Troubleshooting of tooling including pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components
  • Ability to work under pressure with high level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills (RCA, process improvements, corrective actions and defect elimination)
  • Strong safety focus and involvement in risk assessments
  • Experience in Asset Management techniques and use of MEX
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
  • Strong technical and learning agility to apply new concepts and continuously improve
  • Knowledge of lean principles and their practical implementation
  • First Aid 
  • Forklift
  • Overhead Crane
  • Elevated Work Platform (preferred but not essential)
  • Confined Space (preferred but not essential)
