Reporting to the Production Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for managing operations during their shift at this Greenfield, state of the art recycling facility, the Team Leader will be a natural and engaging leader, adept at delivering the operational requirements of their shift

We are looking to fill afternoon & night shifts.

About this opportunity

The Team leader role has day-to-day accountability for managing the team including people management, support of maintenance activities and driving of continuous improvement initiatives to deliver KPI metrics.

The Team Leader will support the Production Manager to build a culture that has a strong continuous improvement and operational excellence mindset.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead by example, across all areas of accountability including WHSE, Quality, and Leadership, promoting a Zero Harm Culture at all times
  • Educate self and team to ensure adherence to Site SOPs
  • Provide an unrelenting focus on Quality, actively engaging in training and holding team to account for Quality in the day-to-day operation
  • Identify process capability issues, escalating to Production Manager to upskill and train the team in all areas
  • Build and maintain a continuous improvement mindset within the team, across all areas of responsibility with a focus on problem solving and root cause
  • Work with the Production Manager to deliver on daily and weekly production schedule, achieving optimum production efficiencies and DIFOT
  • Build the capability of the team through monitoring skills, and maintaining training schedules

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Min. 2 years people leadership experience
  • Experience in Plastics manufacturing and/or recycling desirable
  • Superior communication skills. A personable leader, with the ability to communicate and connect across all levels at site
  • Experienced in driving continuous improvement culture
  • Demonstrated experience in working within highly automated facilities, using the latest technology
  • Demonstrated ability in leading high performing teams
  • Proven people leadership and change management experience with a collaborative and enabling approach
