Senior Operations Manager

Full time role
Hybrid · Redwood City, CA, US... more

Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that's more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To accomplish the energy transition, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.

We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy and desirable to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today. And we are making it easy to purchase and adopt by managing all sales, rebates, permitting and installation for our customers in-house.

Role

We are seeking a strategic and well rounded Senior Operations Manager to take our operations to the next level. Working as part of our central operations team, you will help build the foundations for both our field and programmatic operations teams. You will help set Quilt up for fast growth and smooth, efficient day-to-day operations to enable incredible end customer experience. Your work will be dynamic and vary based on the needs of the business. You will establish business metrics for operational performance, stand up and incubate pilot programs, and dive into execution - getting your hands dirty in areas that span pulling first permits in expansion geographies to analyzing and preparing new market launches. In this role, you can expect to get broad exposure across all functions of the business.

Our operations team is the fastest-growing part of the company as we prepare to expand geographically. You will be a vital part of that growth, laying the foundations for operations that will help us scale to city number two and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Lead special projects to build an efficient installation engine, such as building processes, defining SOPs, and identifying opportunities to improve.
  • Define and implement field operations workflows and processes across regional field teams.
  • Build operations metrics and identify levers to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Standup and incubate pilot programs, such as our first installation contractor partnerships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to plan and execute successful new market launches.
  • Empower our field services staff to complete high-quality installation projects on time and with a great customer experience.

Requirements

  • You have 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment with a high bar for excellence.
  • You have (first) experience in working with operations, with a bonus for experience with trade workers or on-site engineering.
  • You’re a strong problem-solver who is able to figure out ambiguous problems with little guidance.
  • You have strong financial modeling and analytical skills. SQL is a big plus.
  • You are able to both think strategically and excited to dive into execution.
  • You’re able to work cross-functionally and seamlessly between field and office.
  • You have great project management skills and can juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Bonus: You have an engineering background (nice to have).
  • You have a genuine interest in home electrification, accelerating the energy transition, and the product Quilt is building.

This is a full-time, hybrid position in our Redwood City office.

The expected salary range is $165,000 to $187,550 a year. In addition to base salary, Quilt also offers meaningful equity and top-tier benefits.

This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled and ambitious team of people who truly care about the impact of their work. We are on a mission to accelerate a species-level human transition. For over a million years we've been burning things to stay warm. It's time to move to a better way of living.
