The Role

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking motivated candidates for a Project Developer position to drive our pipeline within the Illinois community solar market. This position would report to the Associate Director of Development and work closely with their team to power a clean energy future. An effective candidate will demonstrate sound industry and project development knowledge, superior leadership and communication skills, the ability to focus on minute details while still seeing the big picture, detailed organization, and a desire to solve complex problems. The right candidate will be someone who demonstrates a mission-driven determination, takes initiative, is results-oriented, and excels at working with others across teams. Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead development activities by working with internal teams in areas including, but not limited to real estate and title, interconnection, engineering, survey, environmental, offtake, policy, and finance
  • Prioritize, coordinate, review, and track key development deliverables with internal teams and external legal, zoning, environmental, interconnection, and engineering consultants
  • Manage and report project data as it pertains to budget, schedule, and deliverables
  • Achieve development milestones on time and on budget for projects to successfully move into financing and construction
  • Gather market intelligence and expand relationships with local government, utility, and other stakeholder groups to understand the project development and permitting processes
  • Prepare and submit land use permitting applications, manage development of site layouts for permitting, and coordinate, attend, and present at permitting meetings
  • Review and manage project contracts including leases, interconnection agreements, renewable energy credit agreements to ensure compliance with their terms
  • Build strategic relationships with development, finance, and EPC partners
  • Regular travel to visit project sites, and other Cypress Creek office

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Energy, engineering, or business related Master's degree is a plus
  • 2-5 years' experience in project development
  • Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Results-driven and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to lead, manage, and mentor potential direct reports

 

 

Locations: This position will be remote and located in the Greater Chicago Area or nearby in the Midwest region. Candidates should expect 20-35% travel to meet with local stakeholders and team meetings once or twice per quarter. Local to or willing to relocate to the Midwest region is required.**

 

 

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $120,000-145,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
