Overview

The Financial Analyst manages product planning, functionality development, testing, system role/access design, process management, and definition for all organizational users of corporate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting systems. They provide analytical support for historical, current, and forward-looking financial and business-related projects, and assist in the preparation of forecasts and analysis of trends. This individual also participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within VEIC’s technical infrastructure. This individual ensures VEIC’s corporate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting systems and related procedures adhere to organizational priorities, enabling staff, volunteers, and partners to contribute to the VEIC mission effectively and efficiently. They will be expected to produce regular reports using financial data and work collaboratively across the finance team and VEIC to analyze business performance and strategy, as well as make budgetary and forecast recommendations.

 

Location:

This is a hybrid position, and the ideal candidate will be located in Winooski, VT.

 

Compensation:

At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $60,000-$70,000 annually. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as VEIC’s primary point of contact with FP&A system vendors and consultants.
  • Reviews organizational needs against current capabilities and provides meaningful input and development direction.
  • Is a key team member on projects in system development efforts and data interface needs.
  • Assists with the design and implementation of system testing plans.
  • Supports end users of system to utilize functions.
  • Manages user access and system configuration.
  • Provides/arranges support of requests from various internal partners. Investigates and troubleshoots issues.  Supports solution implementation.
  • Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Analyzes current and past business and financial data.
  • Prepares reports on various levels of financial information and communicates the insights of these reports to internal partners within VEIC.
  • Collaborates with leadership to strategize, develop, and communicate out financial plans and narratives.
  • Suggest budgets and process improvements.
  • Assists with creation and maintenance of financial models and tools based on analyses to support organizational decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to the mission, vision, goals, and values of VEIC.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related field; or a combination of 4+ years’ education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.

  • Experience with an accounting or budgeting software package experience required. Netsuite, NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Deltek and/or Adaptive Planning experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including fluency in Excel, is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and use sound judgment. Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
