About this opportunity

This position provides support to the Group PPNZ Technology team responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing process and automation solutions to the business including researching and evaluating new technologies and automation systems to enhance the business's operational efficiency and strategic goals. Preparing and managing capital expenditure for machines and tooling required to automate the production processes and to secure new business opportunities will form a large part of this role. Leading and executing complex automation projects as directed by GM - Technology as well as providing management, guidance and leadership to sites in Safety, Quality, Production, and Continuous Improvement with regards to automation systems and practices.

Key accountabilities for this role include:

  • Identifying and procuring capital equipment that can automate production processes, increase operational efficiency, and secure new business opportunities.
  • Preparing and executing capex plans for the installation and maintenance of the automated plant and equipment.
  • Supporting the Sales Team with technical expertise on automation solutions and customer requirements.
  • Leading and managing complex automation projects as directed by GM - Technology.
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies and automation practices as directed.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Experience as a Technical Manager in FMCG, manufacturing / production environment with a focus on process automation and implementation
  • Experience with projects focused on Manufacturing automation
  • Senior manufacturing experience
  • Proven Project Management experience
  • Proven leadership and team management experience with the ability to build a cohesive and values-driven team motivated to achieve outstanding results
  • Exposure to process automation best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Experience with Process improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including QA

 You are well known for your technical knowledge of the plastic manufacturing industry,experience in automation projects in manufacturing, positive attitude and for being an ambassador of the business both internally and externally. You are a respected leader, with excellent coaching and mentoring capability. You are well known for your achievements, drive and commitment to business and process improvement for exceptional outcomes for customers.
