Role Overview

This role calls for a strong operational person whose focus is to manage operational risk, execute risk and operational controls, develop management information, and help drive process improvements within TP ICAP Operations. They will work alongside the regional Head of Operations, the Global Head of Operational Services, and the Global Head of Operational Risk to implement tactical, as well as strategic change to meet the objectives of the overall operational strategy. She/he will also identify and implement efficiencies to operational protocols and procedures, helping to provide a greater level of service to clients both internal and external but more importantly ensuring we have a robust control environment given our First Line of Defense role.

This role demands tenacity to drive operational change through the whole project lifecycle, from requirements stage to implementation including the impact on the Operating model. It requires drive to improve operations approach and standards around change, testing and releases. They will need to have good influencing skills and the ability to strongly argue for the operational change they are championing in many development forums. They need to be able to pull together the progress of the change and report biweekly to the Operations Leadership team. As part of the Global Broking Operations Team, they should also independently review the Global Operating Model and recommend solutions around centralization and harmonization of ”Follow-the-Sun” models ultimately driving and enhancing Operations’ global client and customer experience, footprint and brand.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for several key areas within the larger Operations team: Functional Risk Control and leading change management initiatives within Operations, both regionally and globally.

  • Partner with functional owners to manage routine risk activities, including control attestations, Risk Self Assessments (RSAs), stress tests, and other regular risk activities.

  • Provide guidance and oversight for Risk Issues and Actions, Risk Events, Policy Breaches, and other risk-related events, partnering with Operations staff regionally or globally by function.

  • Lead regional and global innovation projects to build more effective controls and provide more efficient processes, serving as a regional leader of the Innovation Champions working group.

  • Work with Operations partners and Technology resources in all regions to identify best practices for building, deploying, and supporting automated processes.

  • Lead Innovation Champion members in adhering to End User Developed Application (EUDA) control requirements and ensure changes are raised in the relevant development forum.

  • Compile Business Briefs for submission to the local PMO containing benefits realized for any projects related to this function, and engage with regional counterparts to ensure global consistency in Operational Change.

  • Assist in ensuring key controls, operational risk, and exception monitoring processes are in line with ICAP operational risk policy.

  • Build business relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring that operational processes are clearly understood and never compromised by stakeholders.

  • Manage and develop the Americas Risk team members, establishing roles and responsibilities for the Americas Regulatory Reporting teams.

  • Minimum 2-7 years of consulting experience or other relevant change management experience.

  • Skilled in Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, etc.).

  • Excellent knowledge of clearing and settlement processes for all types of financial products.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Broker-Dealer Operations functions and trading life cycle.
