Role Overview

A Credit Default Swap (CDS) Index is a derivative product that allows investors to manage credit risk associated with a basket of underlying reference entities, such as bonds or loans. Unlike single-name CDS, which hedges against the default risk of a specific entity, a CDS Index covers a diversified portfolio of reference entities. CDS Index trading provides market participants with a way to gain exposure to broad credit markets, manage credit risk, and express views on credit market trends. It is an essential tool for institutional investors, banks, hedge funds, and other market participants involved in credit trading and risk management.
