About this opportunity

The primary purpose is to plan and execute the mechanical maintenance function at VIP Packaging Brendale, whilst providing support to other departments i.e. projects, production.

You will be also responsible for ensuring the maintenance function is delivering best outcomes with accurate and timely response to operations.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Coordinate and balance the workload, assign scheduled tasks and mechanical breakdown tasks for site Mechanical Trades and Contractors
  • Manage and maintain the MEX maintenance schedule for mechanical works at the Brendale site
  • Oversee the Maintenance Planner raise and Issue MEX Works Orders from Requests
  • Lead and or participate in Continuous Improvement Projects to achieve improved Safety, Productivity, Quality & Reliability
  • Develop and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Liaise with Electrical Trades and Electrical Supervisor
  • Actively drive a culture of behavioral safety and preventative safety measures and activities.  
  • Ensure that work is carried out in a safe working manner (Take5 & LOTO) and maintaining safe working environments.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Five (5) years in manufacturing processes.
  • Maintenance planning, scheduling and supervision
  • Understanding of “good practice” preventative maintenance strategies
  • Experience with MEX or equivalent maintenance operating system
  • Highly developed safety awareness and ability to drive a safety culture
  • Strong analytical aptitude, an ability to improve planning processes and drive change
