Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced and effective Product Manager to lead the development and commercialization of utility-scale sodium-ion battery systems. This role requires a strong technical background, market insight, and strategic vision to deliver innovative energy storage solutions that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate across engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to ensure the successful development and deployment of cutting-edge battery technology. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Product Strategy and Roadmap 

  • Own and maintain Peak’s product roadmap for utility-scale sodium-ion battery systems, aligning with market trends, customer needs, and business objectives. 
  • Identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation within the energy storage market. 
  • Monitor competitive landscape and provide strategic insights to drive product positioning and strategy. 

Product Development 

  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to define product requirements and performance criteria. 
  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring designs meet market and regulatory requirements. 
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to commercialization, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget. 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and promotional materials. 
  • Engage with customers, and industry stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure product-market fit. 
  • Partner with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize production scalability and cost-effectiveness. 

Market Analysis and Customer Insights 

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and potential growth opportunities in energy storage and renewable integration. 
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to guide product improvements and future developments. 
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, showcasing the product and gathering insights. 

Performance Metrics and Reporting 

  • Provide updates to executive leadership on product status, market trends, and strategic recommendations. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field.  
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware product management / development, preferably in energy storage, power generation, or a related field. 
  • Strong technical understanding of sodium ion or lithium ion battery systems 
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects on time. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Experience with the design, deployment and operation of utility-scale energy storage systems  
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and certifications in the energy storage industry. 
  • Knowledge of market dynamics, including key players, pricing trends, and customer preferences.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. At Peak Energy, we value our employees and promote work-life balance.
