As a key member of the Product Management and Analytics team, you will develop models that drive product design, optimize commercial contract structures, and support the operational dispatch of Antora thermal batteries in the field. Collaborating across departments and leveraging data, with support from the data engineering team, you will create models that enhance internal tools and shape Antora’s software products, directly influencing our innovative energy solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Write, document, and deploy algorithms to optimally dispatch Antora’s thermal battery in the market by minimizing electric charging costs, maximizing heat revenues, and ensuring seamless operations with industrial heat offtakers
- Collaborate with Antora engineering and commercial teams to develop algorithmic features that accurately capture physical and contractual constraints of Antora’s product and projects
- Improve renewable generation and locational marginal price forecasts by identifying and implementing new machine learning approaches and/or evaluating and integrating 3rd party forecasts
- Prototype, benchmark and deploy advanced algorithmic features that account for uncertainties in prices and renewable energy availability
- Write, maintain, and improve Antora’s python-based technoeconomic modeling packages which enable deeper understanding of financial impacts and trade-offs associated with product cost and performance
- Collaborate with data engineers to design data pipelines, organize/structure the desired output of those pipelines, and outline data quality testing and monitoring requirements.
- Assist data analysts in querying and visualizing data as needed
- PhD in quantitative field or equivalent experience, with experience in electricity markets or energy storage technology
- Ability to translate contract language, engineering constraints, and product requirements into mathematical model formulations and vice versa
- Demonstrated experience writing python for regression, optimization, and machine learning
- Proficient using SQL to query data stored in cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical members of Antora’s staff to formulate problems and to communicate methods and results clearly and succinctly
Work Location: Onsite - San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $133,000 USD - $238,000 USD
Salary Basis: Annual

The actual salary offered will be within the posted range and determined based on several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experiences, credentials and expertise, as they pertain to the position's requirements.
