cKinetics is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our fast growing team as a Client Associate, Low Carbon Fuels. This role will be critical in driving the business development and adoption of our market-leading research, data, and insights services in low-carbon fuel markets. This role will focus on growing our client base, driving commercial partnerships, and ensuring the adoption of our services across Clean Fuels Standard markets in North America (California LCFS, Oregon CFP, Washington CFS, US RFS, 45Z, Canada CFR, British Columbia LCFS, etc) and global markets for low-carbon fuels including Renewable Diesel, SAF, RNG, Hydrogen, etc.
The ideal candidate will be results-driven, with a proactive mindset and exceptional relationship-building skills. They should possess a deep understanding of—or a strong desire to develop expertise in—low-carbon fuels, carbon markets, and decarbonization. The candidate must be adept at identifying and nurturing leads, driving business development, engaging with key market players, and translating insights into actionable solutions that drive client success.
Key responsibilities:
Client engagement and business development:
Identify and engage prospective clients, understanding their business needs and how cCarbon’s services can add value.
Develop and nurture client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on fuels market insights and regulatory trends.
Lead client conversations, product demos, and negotiations to drive business opportunities.
Collaborate with internal research teams to create customized proposals and solutions tailored to client needs.
Represent cCarbon at industry events, webinars, and conferences to build brand awareness and expand our client network.
Markets analysis, research, and solutions:
Independently research and analyze low-carbon fuel markets, including credit markets under regulatory programs (LCFS, CFR, RFS, etc.) and voluntary schemes.
Stay abreast of clean fuels regulations, pricing dynamics, credit generation pathways, and emerging technologies.
Identify patterns and trends in market data to generate actionable insights for clients.
Develop and contribute to cCarbon’s insights reports and publications.
Proactively assess client needs and drive/support new product features and research topics based on those needs.
Create impactful written and oral presentations containing data insights, trends, and market patterns.
Support delivery of bespoke consulting projects, ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes that delight clients.
You must have:
At least 3-5 years of experience in carbon markets, low-carbon fuels, environmental markets, or business development.
Master’s degree in environmental science, economics, business, or a related field.
Strong understanding of clean fuel regulations and credit markets (LCFS, CFR, RFS, etc.) or a demonstrated willingness to learn.
Proven track record of driving client engagement, sales pipelines, or business development.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience collaborating on projects involving multiple teams and managing cross-team/cross-function relationships.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
