Full time role
In-person · Kingston, ON, CA... more

Would you like to be in charge of one of the Engineering Society’s most beloved traditions? If you said yes, Fix N’ Clean coordinator is the position for you! Fix N’ Clean is a biannual event run by the Engineering Society where Queen’s students are sent into the Kingston community to assist clients with tasks that they cannot perform on their own. These tasks can consist of any household chores, such as yard work, shoveling snow, painting, moving furniture, and setting up computers.

As one of two Fix N’ Clean coordinators, you will be the key to organizing this event. Under the guidance of the Director of External Relations, you will plan logistics and get to see the positive effects of your work when you run the event. You will gain valuable experience working with a budget, managing timelines, and using your skills to directly create a positive impact on your community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating the team’s strategic plan
  • Producing and maintaining a budget throughout the year
  • Connecting with event sponsors
  • Marketing the event
  • Planning logistics such as timing and transportation
  • Running the event twice a year

Recommended skills include:

  • Scheduling and time management skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm about giving back to the community
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Organizational and logistical planning skills
  • The ability to share ideas and collaborate with a partner

Applications are due Wednesday March 26th @11:59 pm, and interviews are scheduled to take place on March 29th and 30th.

If you have any questions about the position or would like to request additional accommodations, please do not hesitate to contact Gabby Steiner, the incoming Director of External Relations, at external.incoming @ engsoc.queensu.ca

I recognize that Queen’s University sits on the unceded land of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, and I affirm my commitment and responsibility to amplifying Indigenous ways of knowing and being in my work.
