The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Advanced Applications Support, the Advanced Application Support Engineer provides technical support and implementation expertise for Tantalus products and other emerging integrations such as SCADA, Distributed Energy Resource (DER) integration, and behind-the-meter applications. This role will focus on supporting customers in deployment preparation, driving product 
refinement, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of our solutions.


Location of Position & Travel:
This position will be based remotely with in the U.S, preferably located in Central or Eastern States, and will require up to 25% travel. 


Specifically, the Advanced Application Support Engineer will:

  • Provide advanced technical support for product deployments, troubleshooting issues, and assisting customers with implementation.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure smooth preparation and execution of product rollouts.
  • Assist with new integrations, including SCADA systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and other behind-the-meter applications.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to support final development, proof-of-concept testing, and field trials.
  • Participate in high-profile pilot deployments to refine and enhance product performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on best practices for product implementation.
  • Document support cases, solutions, and recommendations to continuously improve the product and customer experience.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to enhance product success and scalability.



What you Bring:
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of networking experience and security best practices for large corporate networks.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support, application engineering, or customer-facing roles within the technology or energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, utility applications, and grid automation technologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Industry data acquisition protocols such as DNP, Modbus, IEEE 2030.5 and IEC61850 is a plus.
  • Experience with customer deployments, troubleshooting, and project ramp-up activities.
  • Familiarity with proof-of-concept testing and field trial execution.
