Position Summary: 
 
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in sustaining our existing charging solution and the development of next-generation Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reliability engineering, statistical analysis, and system design for hardware, firmware, and software systems. This role focuses on driving product reliability initiatives, assessing risks, and ensuring robust and reliable performance throughout the product lifecycle. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes in alignment with industry standards.  
  • Create and execute quality plans, including inspection and test plans, for EVSE products and construction projects.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and Field Service) to establish quality requirements and resolve quality issues.  
  • Monitor and analyze field data to identify trends, failure modes, and areas for improvement, working closely with suppliers and Field Service teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).  
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and 8D problem-solving processes for field failures.  
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of EVSE components and systems to ensure product compliance with specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.  
  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality standards and ensure their adherence by performing supplier audits and assessments, verifying process controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.  
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and track supplier corrective actions to closure 
  • Oversee construction quality processes to ensure proper installation and commissioning of EVSE chargers.  
  • Work with contractors and site managers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. 
  • Analyze quality data to identify areas for process optimization and defect reduction, leading or participating in kaizen events and other lean initiatives.  
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, quality Management, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in EVSE, power electronics, or a related industry. 
  • Strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (8D, FMEA, SPC, etc.). 
  • Experience with supplier quality management, construction quality, and audit processes. 
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering principles and root cause analysis techniques. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software. 
  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or Six Sigma is a plus 
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis methods and tools (e.g., Minitab, ReliaSoft).   
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 61851, UL 2202, and other EVSE-specific requirements.   
  • Hands-on experience with failure analysis techniques and root cause investigation processes.   
 
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 USD to $135,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer discretionary target cash bonuses, restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off including parental leave, and a 401(k).
